The Dart 120 team ride consists of several teams, each with their own route, leaving the start location at the same time, returning 120k and 8 hours later to celebrate with the whole group. This is a great way for newcomers to get started with randonneuring. Not a long distance, ample of time. and Team Captains do their best to the group together. A great way to get to know your fellow riders, chat with them during the ride and the mandated sit down control stops, and some socializing with other teams at the finish.
Remember that you need a Dart event if you are planning on earning a Rouleur award this year.
The ride starts at 8a, finishes at 4p with some munchies and refreshments with the other teams.
There are 3 routes established all starting at the Black Dog Trail parking lot at I35W and Black Dog Road.
1. Gravel - heading down to Lonsdale and back, about 50% gravel, easy class B roads - Dart 120k Gravel 2023 · Ride with GPS
2. Road/trail - heading south and east to Hastings on the Highline, Pine Bluff and Spring Lake trails - Dart Populaire 120k Black Dog - Hasting - Inver Grove Heights · Ride with GPS
3. Road - a more general road route heading down to Farmington and back on a combination of suburban and rural roads. - Dart 120k- road · Ride with GPS
With only three riders signed up so far it looks we'll only have one team. I would be leading option 2. John Murphy has volunteered as a team captain for a potential second team, maybe the gravel option. He is open for anything. So please sign up in the next coupled of days so we can form teams.
If you are interested in leading your own team and have 2-4 MnRando friends to join you let me know and we can work out a route for you.
