This route begins in the City Parking Lot in Downtown Shakopee. Wampach's Restaurant is well known for breakfasts and Bravis Modern Street Food is a great choice to refuel after the ride. The route travels out of the Minnesota River Valley and passes Lake O'Dowd on the way to southern Scott County on the way to Marystown, Veseli, and Saint Benedict featuring rolling hills and lots of rural farms and forests. A control in New Prague with Kwik Trip, Speedway or Caseys will help you to refuel and relax for a bit. On the return, the route skirts Jordan on the way to Bluff Drive, a common spot of hill repeat training for area cyclists. The total amount of elevation change is approximately 2,500' making this route an ideal introduction to gravel.
61% of this route is on gravel roads (101 km)
Electronic Ride Waiver
We have worked with RUSA on an electronic ride waiver that we are now rolling out for all of our rides. This will replace our paper waivers at the start. We will still bring some as a backup. You can click here to go to the MN Randonneurs SmartWaiver page. Please fill out the form there with all the requested information. Once you click submit, an email with a download link of the electronic waiver will be sent to you, to the Minnesota RBA (Norman Ehrentreich), and to the RUSA insurance account. After that, you will be sent back to a landing page on the mnrando.org site that you can close.
