Another Apple Valley classic brevet route. Expect rollers and several decent climbs and descents after you leave Cannon Falls and return again 120 miles later, visiting Goodhue, Plainview and Zumbrota on the way.
The route has been upgraded this year to include the Lake Byllesby Dam and a beautiful short bike trail just north of Zumbrota. There are 2-3 miles of gravel before the bike trail but this should not be a problem for most riders (contact the ride leader for an alternate route, which adds 4 miles).
The route now also returns to a newly paved CR-8 out of Plainview, which we have avoided for the past few years.
The section along the Zumbro River from Millville through Hammond to US-63 is one of our favorite roads.
