Minnesota Randonneurs Board Challenge Week 15, August 17-23
Wow! Our total qualifying ride count went up to 128 from 122 last week, but only 3 riders recorded a 200k (125 mile) or longer ride. There were 92 50km rides, 33 100km rides. Does this mean the end of summer is near? Another interesting stat: 100 riders posted at least one ride to our club site this past week, the highest we have recorded. Our Minnesota Randonneurs Strava Club membership is now at 129.
Congratulations to the following 200k+ riders this week
Norman Ehrentreich 375 miles (600k)
Eric Roys 125 miles (200k)
Andrew Gifford 125 miles (200k)
Without a doubt Norman is our outstanding rider of the week! Norman is training for the North Star Bicycle Race, starting in mid-September - looks like he will be in top form!
The great news from RUSA this past week is the resumption of brevets/populaires up to 325km starting in September.
NOTE: Due to the RUSA resumption of sanctioned events starting next week, the Aug 24-31 cycle will be the last published Minnesota Randonneurs Strava Club Weekly Report.
Our Strava club will be used by riders of our events as a proof of passage. If you haven’t already, go to www.MnRando.org to check out our schedule and sign up for some great fall rides. We are hoping to be able to schedule more rides in October, including a gravel ride or two and perhaps a 400k and 600k to help our riders achieve an ACP Super Randonneur award – more on this later.
8 riders completed at least 4 qualifying rides (50k or longer) during the week:
